Liebster Award

Hello my dear readers! I’ve got something nice to share with you today. I was given the Liebster Award by Anthony from My Visual Journey. Go check out his blog, and make sure you take a look at his autumn shots, they’re beautiful! Thank you again, Anthony!

About the award, Liebster” is German and it means “Dearest” or “Beloved.” But, at the same time it can also mean “favorite.” As usual, there are a few rules:

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

2. Reveal your top 5 picks for the award and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.

3. Post the award to your blog.

4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people in the blogsphere – other bloggers.

5. And, best of all – have fun and spread the Karma.

Here are five of my favorite blogs. I’ve chosen these five because I don’t think I’ve given them an award before, and I don’t want to mention always the same blogs. Everyone else, know your blog is awesome too, and please feel free to grab the award  and post it because you deserve it without a doubt, I just had to name five. These are in no particular order:

Emily’s Photography Blog

Smile on life

Between heaven and earth

Iltana’s blog

Sophie L. Meunier Photography

Thank you people for making blogging such a wonderful, enjoyable experience for me. This blog would be just another wordpress site without you. I really enjoy your likes and comments, and all the support and encouragement you give me every day :).

Reaching for the pot of gold

It feels great to have some time for the blog at last! I’m going through that part of the semester when all the partials pile up, and I’ve been pulling all-nighters and then dreaming about the stuff I studied. The upside is on Tuesday night, after all my partials are done, the whole class is having a party to celebrate the end of our practice. It’s a costume party, and we have to dress up as something related to the subject we taught. I’m going as an alien, and I will never, ever post any photos ;). I’m looking forward to some relaxing, since afterwards I’ll have to start writing papers and reading for finals. I won’t be off until January this year, but I don’t mind because I’m graduating on February!

I’ve been blessed with some breathtaking sunsets lately (I think it’s the universe’s way of patting me on the back.) Hope you enjoy the photos!

Spring beauties

I can say I’m glad last week is over. You know those weeks packed with so many important events that you wonder how you made it through once they’re over?

On Wednesday I finally finished my residency, after many delays due to strikes. I’m going to miss the kids, they were a nice group and I enjoyed reading what they wrote and finding a gem here and there, but I’m really glad it’s over. It was a lot of hard work, and now I’m one step closer to graduation.

On Thursday I got my driver’s license. I did it! I still can’t believe I’m allowed to drive. Well, not until all the paperwork is done, but that part is not up to me. I don’t have to drive between traffic cones thrice a week any more! This is such a huge milestone for me, being able to drive gives me independency, even if I don’t own a car just yet. I love knowing I can do so many things I couldn’t do just one year ago.

There is finally peace in my feline family. My kitty kids play together, eat together, sometimes even sleep together. Robin is showing an unexpected amount of patience towards his little sister, to the point of letting her eat from his food bowl (because apparently hers is no good, she wants her brother’s.) Every now and then he tries to bite a chunk out of her, but she puts him in his place with a good hiss :).

November is going to be the hardest month so far, because I’m working full time on all the papers I have to write since I really, really want to graduate ASAP. And I want to take January off. My brain needs it. I know the next few weeks will just fly by!

Some of my news isn’t so good. My mom’s doctors finally came to an agreement and she had to start chemotherapy last week. We were all worried about how it would affect her, but luckily they gave her a pill to take before and after, and she didn’t have any side effects. We hope it’ll be the same during the four-month treatment. Hope with us if you can.

And to celebrate all that I’ve achieved, spring beauties for everyone :).

The beauty of now

now is a ship

which captain am
sails out of sleep

steering for dream

– e. e. cummings

I’ve been reading cummings for one of the many papers I have to write, and I just loved this poem. It touches me at this moment in my life.

Things at the kitty front are going better. I can now let Mora and Robin be in the same room without fearing for their lives. They chase after each other and play in that feisty way cats play, and when the game gets too heated I call it off and send Mora back to my room, where she’s now living. Robin sulks a little when I take his play mate away, so I guess he’s finally accepting the idea of having a little sister :).

I’m enjoying this beautiful spring by spending time outside with the kittens, reading and tending the garden. I really love this time of year. And of course, on the weekends I get away to shoot my beloved sunsets. Hope you like the photos 🙂
