Hello, everyone! I’m trying to post more often, hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up. I’m still super busy, but also super happy. Last Thursday was my birthday, and it was awesome, the best one in many years. I ended my birthday week shooting a beautiful sunset, and decided I’m going to try to do that every year from now on.
These shots are from a few months ago, and this is my favorite tree in the world, the almond tree around the corner from my house. Every year it finds a way to look lovelier :). Hope you enjoy them!

Great series. Love the way you were able to make the flowers stand out out against a similar-colored background by using the droplet reflections and the angle of the sun. Absolutely lovely!

Thanks, Bob! I’ve shot this tree before, but I didn’t have my beloved D90 back then, so I couldn’t quite get the shots I wanted. I’m really glad I finally managed to capture the blossoms in all their beauty :).

… and differential focus… very beautiful!

Thanks, Vladimir! I didn’t know that’s what I was doing, I actually had to google it after I read your comment. I mean, I didn’t know it was a technique with that name, but I’d seen shots like these before and I always wanted to play with aperture and these flowers. Yay to finally having a D90! 😀

Love the dew and the way you shot this elegant tree.

Thanks, Mike. It was one of those amazing combos nature gifts us with every now and then. I like the word elegant to describe this tree. It’s also a very happy tree 🙂

You captured beautifully such a lovely tree. I really like the warmth and lightening of these photographs. I’m just curious as to what country you live in. It seems like paradise : )
November 22, 2012 at 1:52 pm
Thanks, Nareen! That’s the way I felt while I shot these, warm and light :). I live in Argentina. It’s not exactly paradise, but it has some breathtaking landscapes. I’m lucky to live where I live, my town is minutes away from the ocean and a couple hours away from the mountains, and my home is in a neighborhood full of trees and flowers, so I’m surrounded by nature’s best 🙂

You definitely capture the beauty of where you live and I think I speak for all your readers when I say that we’re very happy that you photograph and post your surroundings for all to view : )

Thanks, Ganesh! I love what I shoot, I think that’s the only secret. I love nature and I try to show that love through my photography. The rest is just technical knowledge about how to use a DSLR.

Awww, I just realized that you’ve put my site on your blog roll. Thank you! I appreciate it!
Nice flower images! I keep having to remind myself that you are 2 seasons away from us. 🙂 Happy spring (early summer?)!

I have all my favorite sites there :). It’s summer here, already. It doesn’t look like summer, but it is summer (the weather could get a clue, though, I wouldn’t mind!, lol).
